Important J6 Art Department Update

Good morning. I wanted to personally reach out to some of my longtime brokers and let you know about a major change happening here at J6 Designs.

After 20 years with us, Andrew has given his notice, and his last day will be this Friday. We’re actively working on replacing him, but replacing 20 years of experience, production knowledge, and familiarity with our customers isn’t something we can do overnight.

I’ve brought in additional artists to help with proofs and separations while we find and train the right long-term replacement. We have a plan in place, but there will definitely be a transition period.

Because of this, I’m asking everyone to review your proofs especially carefully for the next several weeks or longer. Andrew has a tremendous amount of day-to-day knowledge about how each broker likes their jobs handled, and some of those details may not automatically be known by a new artist.

Andrew and I have been working on documenting customer preferences to make the transition as smooth as possible. For the most part, our brokers do a great job providing clear POs and artwork instructions.

The biggest area where we need everyone’s help is on PMS colors.

Going forward, please include the PMS number for every ink color on your PO or artwork instructions whenever possible. Different artists can interpret colors on a computer screen differently. A new artist’s interpretation may not always match yours or what Andrew has learned from working with your account over the years. Providing the PMS numbers removes that guesswork and helps us catch potential color issues before they reach production.

I appreciate your patience and help while we work through this transition. My goal is to make this change as seamless as possible and make sure you continue receiving the same level of service you’ve come to expect from J6 Designs.
